I was itching for a finish. So I took one of my small projects to work.  I started it Friday and ended up finishing the backstitching on Saturday morning.

April IHSW & WIPocalypse #4 Check-In

I had every intension of being at home in my comfy chair just stitching.  But it did not turn out that way!

Friday: I got a call saying that my son was in the ER because he was bit by a dog while at a friend's house.  I can honestly say hearing this made me skip a heartbeat or two.  But he is fine and enjoying all the attention.  I do feel awful because animal control took the dog and my son's friend is really missing her dog.  I hope everything turns out okay.

Saturday: My daughter asked if I would babysit my grand daughters because she had a funeral to attend.  Which turned into a sleepover,yay.   I had a wonderful time with the grand babies.  If I didn't mention it before I will be a grandma again....a grandson in June!!!  I really need to get my butt in gear.

Sunday: I can honestly say that I was pooped!  I cleaned up and did laundry.  The house is always alittle mess when the babies are over.


I did manage to get in a few stitches.  Here is my rose, I will be working on this for awhile.  I need to get this done and onto a box top before June.

This is the only WIP that I have stitched on since my last WIPocalypse Check-In.  So here is before / after pics.

TUSAL #4 - Check In

Wow it is April already and another new moon....that means it's TUSAL time.  And I am late again, oh well......time to see every one's pretty ORTs jar and all the progress they have made.  If you are interested in Totally-Useless-Stitch-Long just click here.

 I have some trimmings of the skirt I made for my granddaughters in there and some orts from my rose project that I'm hoping to finish soon.


Well since it is time for IHSW - International Hermit & Stitch Weekend  I will be stitching and doing a little sewing.

WIPocalypse #3 Check-In

Sewing Stuff

 

I have  a couple working project going on for Easter. 

I wanted to make the grand babies something but the pattern I bought just seemed a little intimidating even with the word Easy on the front.

So I opted for make Diaper Covers

 

 

 

 

Above is my diaper cover.  I've already measured it on the grand babies and sewn in the elastic.  One down and another one to go... :)

I don't know if this will make sense but it was an easy pattern to follow but it wasn't easy....lol

Now I'm working on making the grand babies a simple skirt. 

 

 



 

And I finished my curtain for my bedroom.  I just love the color.  It did not come out completely perfect...i.e did not do the top hem correctly but I love it.

March IHSW

Well last weekend was International Hermit Stitch-In Weekend/IHSW, again.  Just click here to join!  

Spring Break has ended for the kiddos and while they were away I did some spring cleaning in the kitchen.  But I did manage to get some stitching done on my Snowman Carolers.  Here it is .....

Well on the sewing front, I have washed the fabric and cut out the pattern for the kiddos pjs.  But I haven't made any cuts  into the fabric.  I have been working on making curtains for my bedroom.  So that is what is next on the sewing machine.  I did alot of measuring and pressing.  I just fell in love with the fabric.

WIPocalypse # 2 - Check In

Hello all!

Well since the last full moon not much stitching has been done.  l do have 2 finishes and a new start.  And my other WIP are still in rotation waiting to be stitched on. :) If you would like to see my finishes just  click on the finish label.  I did not want to post the pic again since I just posted it in a previous post. Also have put in couple (very little) stitches in my Snowman Carolers but not pic worthy.

I have not been stitching a lot but have been playing with my new sewing machine.  I have a baby shower to attend, and wanted to make a burp cloth, so found this great beginner tutorial from Sew Much Ado .  She creates the cutest baby items which I plan to make for my grand babies.

This was really fun and easy to make.  I did have trouble with the curves but I love how it turned out.  I still want to top stitch the blanket.  Well until next time ....

February IHSW

Well I have join the International Hermit Stitch-In Weekend/IHSW.  It's seems like much fun and I will take any excuse to stay home and stitch. Just click here to join!  This weekend was very busy for me but did get some stitching done.

Well I finished my box for Meari's Finishing Class.  I had a great time and loved the class. Everyone's box came out beautiful.   Meari's instructions were great, just check out her blog for more tutorials.  I know I will be attending her next class.

TUSAL # 6 June

Well it's that time again..... TUSAL time!!!!  If you are interested in joining or just curious about what it's all about just click here for Daffycat - 2012 TUSAL .  Well I have been busy earlier this month with birthdays, house guests, and parties so not much stitching got done then.  Since everything seems to be returning back  to normal (whatever that is....lol), I have gotten a few stitches in.

Wkly Update

Yay an update.....I know it has been a long time since I've really blogged.  I have been a little busy.  Well not much stitching has gotten done, this week. My sister and her family were in town for a week and we had a great time.  My week was wonderful...my birthday was Monday,  I recieved lots of birthday wishes from my family and friends.  My kiddos made me dinner and a birthday cake.

Best part of my birtday was watching my granddaughter eat!!!

she is too cute!!!!

DBF took me out to the movies when he got back into town.  We watched Snow White and the Huntsman.  It was a good movie ... I liked it.

Then we ended the week with a big family bbq at the park before my sister left for home (Florida).  It was great to see and spend time with family.  We had a great time.  But this was a very long week and Sunday I just sat around trying to get some rest & stitching done but not much of both got done.  Now it is time to get everything back on track and on a "somewhat" normal routine.
